<p>Went to a college prep hs, got a 3.2 ish GPA</p>
<p>Got into Top 40 4-yr college (not in CA), but took first semester off and went to a california community college. got a 3.6 there. Spring sem at 4-yr i got a 3.5
Dean's list both semesters</p>
<p>I'm taking 20 credits this semester at the 4-yr and am planning on applying for fall 08.</p>
<p>so i guess my cum gpa would be 3.55 as of now and then i'll see what i make for this semester.</p>
<p>major: neuroscience
minor: pure math
ecs:
-katrina relief (1wk)
-clinical/OR/ER shadowing (6wks- HS)
-hotline counselor (2.5 yrs- HS)
-neurosurgery research (1 poster publication, 3rd author on paper)
-mock trial team
-breast cancer database research assistant
-HIV research assistant (current)
-music lessons but no awards
-dean's list
-food service work 1 yr (HS/ the fall sem when i went to CC)
-content editor for undergrad research journal
-tutoring city school kids
-journalism conference (1wk in HS)</p>
<p>courses: so far i've taken/am taking 6 science semester classes, 4 math/ stats, 1 writing. so i wrote that i am planning on doing some humanities etc for their reqs spring semester.</p>
<p>other: CA resident, so if i am missing any of the reqs i can take them during the summer at a CA cc, applying for jr level transfer</p>
<p>what do you think my chances are? i feel that i have strong ECs but my GPA isn't good enough. I'm aiming for UCLA/UCB otherwise I'll stay at my current school.</p>
