Thank you!

bump... anyone please ?

like the deleted thread.....we said something to the effect that UCLA would be a match/somewhat safe.......everything below is safe...and Cal might be a reach.....i don't think there's more to add....not sure about USC

Thank yeah... I'm looking for more opinions lol... i'm kind of worrying a lot these days since this is a waiting period.. ya know

kevin101: Berkeley is a slight reach....very slight haha. Your stats are very impressive and you match UCLA and USC very well. UCI, UCSD and lower UCs are safeties. You won't need this, but goodluck!

Thanks Kevintech!

By the way, I have an off-topic question. How comes my friend has 2 forms (major pre and WIP) to fill out on the UC Berkeley update website while most of people including I have 3 forms (course summary, Breadth requirement and WIP) to fill out?

Also, what should we do if we will drop a registered class or add a new course in Spring 2006 because then we can't update it anymore on the UC update website?

different majors are asked to provide different materials

Kevin,

Just make a note of it on the fillout space if you feel there's a good chance that your schedule might change. I believe the UCs would really llike you to have a stable schedule (no dropping, etc...), so try to make sure you plan one that you feel comfortable with...

Oh i see. Thanks for the information!

I think my schedule will work out smoothly. I barely dropped any class before because i feel dropping class kind of disrespect the professor somehow (just a personal belief).

However, i can't be 100% sure that change gonna or gonna not happen; that is why i and some of my friends worry that the updated courses are not the same with what we actually take. Do you worry about this?

Anymore opinion about my chances for those UCs and USC? I'd like to hear from you all...

race is important

Race is important?? Are you serious? What do you really mean?

Your stats are very good for your major. I transfered from a CC to UCLA with a 3.6 (Biochem). I think for difficult science-y majors like CS, engineering, math, etc they make a big allowance for how tough the classes are (I know a Communications major who was rejected with a 4.0 and a Math major who was accepted with a 3.0). In my opinion, a 3.5 or higher would be enough to get you into most all the schools. You'll DEFINTELY get into most of the UCs. The only one I would be a little concerned with is UCB.

Another person said race is a factor. Whether anyone wants to admit it or not, the numbers don't lie. Check out the admissions stats on the UCLA website. They show the average GPA for accepted freshman of different races . . . the GPA for whites and asians is higher than other races. I see no reason why this same trend wouldn't apply to transfer students.

because they can't base admission on race in fact they are restricted from doing so by law.

are you saying,

race plays zero factor in admission decisions just because of some prop that was passed? a prop that has in no way any sort of regulatory agency to check up on it, and even if it did, no way of being proven to any sort of degree that would hold in legal standing.

universities want diversity, so admissions are never fairly based soley upon merit. that is fact.

Well I am talking about the university of california. they ask you to put your race down but it is not mandatory. the university of california does not look at what race you listed when making admissions decisions. i have talked to a few uc app readers who have explained this as fact.

if you asked a murderer if he killed anyone, what would the murderer say?

it's a conspiracy bleh

why would UC app readers lie.

why would the murderer lie
