UCB Undergrad -- Worth it?

<p>@mitigated</p>

<p>I have two friends in 110 (not honors) and they said that it is a joke, as well. Perhaps H110 is better, or maybe its just their professor.
I’m EECS, so I won’t be much help to you for math/physics courses. But this IS one of the things that drove me towards engineering/cs – if you are not being challenged in your classes, it is SOOO easy to challenge yourself outside of class by working on a project. If you want to have unlimited opportunities to be intellectually challenged, I would urge you to consider CS. And don’t be fooled by the ease of the lower-div CS classes. If you take the right upper-divs, you WILL be challenged (162, 164, 170).
The ultimate academically stimulating environment, however, is doing research and finding answers to questions that nobody has ever found the answers for in the history of mankind. I can’t tell you how many times professors have told me that they are happy to have undergrads help them with research. You just will need to prove yourself before you are entrusted with anything important. I think that last part should go without saying.</p>

<p>You may be brilliant in math and physics. You may want to take more graduate level math courses and seek research opportunities in math.</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>Someone who thinks that upper division honors math courses are easy won’t find CS 170 to be much of a challenge.</p>

<p>Yup, I’m taking two graduate courses (dropped most of my lower div classes) and actively participating in research! Thanks for the advice and sorry for this tangent.</p>
