UCB Verification??

fijiboi...
I'm on campus right now checking my email...my husband is as we speek turning in his paperwork to the f/a department as advised by the department to do. He is also going to the registar because they gor his address incorrect so the f/a department told him to go to the office of registar to fix the address. Not sure why they would have that info updated if he was not accepted...so it all looks good so far.
I'll post here if anything goes wrong.
btw did your form have your name already populated, along with the word "student" and 2008-2009 school "Berkeley" already populated? pretty cool huh?

luvtoolearn: I saw it on there but I didn't really pay it any close attention till you mentioned it. It is pretty cool.

just got back from the f/a department, they kept asking him if he has his SID number yet. We kept telling them no, because we don't know if he has been accepted yet. they said ofcourse he has been accepted, we only send verification forms to people who are accepted, we'll just use his ss# until he gets his SID. So I would be shocked if the both of you got a rejection. btw, they said that those letters were not supposed to go out this early and that was a mistake, so allot of other students might get theres at the appropriate time.
At any rate, they now have his f/a paperwork and said they'll get the package together w/in 30 days.

I've been doing some research and here's what I got so far. Apparently Berkeley's verification process is separate from the federal level process. That's from Haas's site. Also, from the graduate site I read that Berkeley sends out verification forms to everybody with a dependent child.

That narrows it down somewhat, at least for me.

Great, congratulations to your husband. You get to go to the same school now!

Congratulations on your acceptance to everyone who got the FA letter!

Doh! I didn't get a verification letter today. I'll continue to check until the 30th.

LoS, I'm sure you've posted elsewhere, but do you mind my asking what are your stats?

Econ
3.50
EC: Volunteer + Work
Essay: Masterpiece
Prereqs and IGETC: end of semester

You, lop?

luvtoolearn: That's great news!! I really appreciate you keeping us informed of what's going on. The guy I talked to at the FAO seemed kind of shady and didn't want to give out any info. So of course I had to call back and talk to someone else and she said it was a good sign. The info that you got makes it seem like a guarantee!!

Lackofsense - can i read ur essay? i wanna know wot masterpiece is like

i think im gonna get rejected from ucb and ucla because of my essay

T_T

I just got an email asking to re send my parents income information, but i never applied for any grants or financial aid?

UCB: lol. Calling it a masterpiece is a bit exaggerated. I wrote it in three days. I just reread it and now it sounds "ok". lol

........It sounded good at the time of cramming. eh

I'll let you read it if I get accepted. That's the only way of knowing if it's a masterpiece or not.

LoS - lol. alright then

m3pwr.... that is really strange. Are you sure your parents didn't complete a FAFSA, usually that is where the school gets income info from.

they probably asked for income verification so as to get an idea about the socioeconomic context of your educational development.

^ if that's true, I should have received one too (maybe?) since I put a really low # for household income

Anyone receive the verification letter? I still haven't receive one.

lackofsense: I think only students with dependents have received one so far.

thanks fijee. I was getting a bit paranoid
