Hi, I'm a dependent and I got a related letter. However it strictly says on the top "This review is unrelated to your admission status." Is this the same for others?

Also on the form sheet I see no place to put my SID in (I've skimmed through this thread and there was a post relating to this?). But what's driving me crazy is the section of "Family Members Attending College" it has my own name printed , and it actually says I attend UCB for 2008-2009!

I'm getting kind of anxious but at the same time I really don't want to be disappointed after receiving such a "tease.."

Anyway good luck to all.

Are you a dependent or do you have dependents? My letter doesn't say anything about this not being related to admissions. The rest of us transfers that got this letter are independent students with dependents. I guess the freshman who got letters said they had something on their letters saying that it was unrelated to admissions. They received parent verification letters. I couldn't find one person, freshman or transfer that got this verification letter and then got denied. But with my luck, i'll be the first one.
My guess is that they send verification letters to a certain percentage of entering students. Since the verification can take up to 30 days, they want to have the students financial aid package complete before the SIR is due. So they try and get an early start so we can see our financial aid package before we decide whether to go to UCB or not.

Yeah, I'm a dependent. Would be really ironic if I did get rejected - I'll admit I don't have impressive stats and I am trying to UC-UC intercampus transfer.

Could you give stats and major please.

2nd year Electrical Engineering
3.5gpa

Hmmm, 22% acceptance rate for your major huh. Is there anything else that would make your application stick out? Great essay, family problems, EC's? Do you have pre reqs complete?
