I'm going to be majoring in undergrad business and I can't choose between Berkeley and University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. I live in Illinois so UIUC is a lot cheaper than Berkeley, especially because of Berkeley's ridiculously high out-of-state tuition. I've pretty much heard that Berkeley is much better for undergrad business but is it worth the cost for an out-of-stater. Which school should I go to?

UC Berkeley, Haas is one of the best b-schools in the country.

Berkeley. And this is coming from someone who has an extremely heavy bias against CA.

yea i know Berkeley is a better school but I would have to take on a HUGE loan to go there whereas with UIUC money is not at all an issue. plus doesn't UIUC have a good business school too? or is uiuc only known for its accounting program?

Then go to UIUC. UIUC is # 1 for accounting.

Hold on...I'll bust out my USNews guide...

UIUC:
14 in Marketing
5 in Real Estate
13 in Finance
1 in Accounting
8 in Management
12 in General Business

Berkeley:
4 in Marketing
2 in Real Estate
4 in Finance
7 in Accounting
3 in Management
6 in Entrepreneurship
5 in International Business
3 in General Business.

They're both good. If you have to take out a massive loan for Berkeley, then go to UIUC. If you have to take out a massive loan for Wharton, then go to Wharton.
