what programs are you guys going to get involved in at davis?
i’m thinking about getting involved in the cross-cultural center, rainbow center, and i want to write for the student newspaper.

If you’re only taking Physics during the summer by itself, you should be fine. Yes, its way more intense, but since you would be focused on only one subject instead of three, you should be okay. Plus, class sizes are smaller. Whatever you do, do not skip any classes, and if something doesn’t make sense to you, ask questions.

i’m just planning on a lot of intramurals right now. and possibly some parkour stuffs ! davis has little group parkour thingies up there. should be awesomeee

on the academic side. i’ll probably just be trying to find a great internship somewhere. maybe in sacramento through the school somehow.

yeah, i’ll also be looking for an internship and hopefully during my second quarter i can start doing research.

what are “parkour stuffs”?

Please PM me for FB link.

:)

That’s pretty intense. It would be awesome I could do that stuff, but too much of a whimp, lol.

Is the Blue & Gold the UG Scholarship?

to be technical IamJ00, blue and gold isn’t a scholarship, so maybe that already gives you your answer. im not too sure tho because i have no idea what UG stands for, undergrad?

Haven’t checked this forum in a while - I bought a frickin’ house! - but there is a Wushu club at Davis that I am keeping track of on Facebook. Haven’t managed to go to a practice yet but I definitely intend to. My wife and I are living in an apartment complex very close to the north-west corner of campus while we fix up our fixer-upper.

Hello all …

I got a TAG approval last year for UCD and knew this is where I wanted to be. I attended orientation on the 27th of June, met some really cool people, and registered for classes with no problem. I’ll be living off-campus, possibly commuting from Sac the first few weeks once things begin. I’m majoring in Statistics with definite plans to attend graduate school. I’m toying with the idea of a minor in econ but not sure yet.

As for programs, I applied for the Linda Frances Alexander Scholars program for students of African American/Bi-racial descent and will be looking into research opportunities as soon as I can. I’m also an adult re-entry student over the age of 25, and will be using the resources at their center as well.

Good luck to everyone! If anyone wants to hit me up, I’m on Facebook … “Brian Statman Hayes.” Just mention this thread and I’ll add you.
