do you think youll have to go through much difficulty or loops on getting it changed?

so for 9,000 a year are there some reasonable decent on campus housing units?

so for 9,000 a year are there some reasonable decent on campus housing units?

ooh, i see now. they put my estimated basic living at $9,554.00. my loan/pell grant distribution would be $3000 per quarter. so if i get a spot at ramble for $750, my grants will break even with my cost of rent for the year (!) ~ $9000. it may work out, then. but i’d definitely like to get work study since things will be cutting so close.

^interesting. glad it worked/is working out for you.

@mytime is that for off campus (on your FAFSA) ?! Also, i recommend you finding a real job since you get very little hours from work studies.

@uckitty, i’m not sure what it takes to get it changed. I’m not sure how long it’ll take either. So idk :(

oh and by any chance can you tell me your ages.

the reason i ask is because im 22 and will transfer next fall and i turn 23 in january. so im trying to figure out how long will i qualify for financial aid off of my mom.

on-campus. i know work study offers very little, but i’m okay with that, i have a scholarship i will use at davis and i applied for the cal aggie alumni scholarship which i hope i get…but i agree…i may try to get another kind of on-campus job if i do need the $. lol

@uckitty-i’m 20. re: your question about age, 24 is the first year where you are no longer required to use your parents income on the FAFSA. With only your income (and your spouse’s if you are married) you may qualify for more aid than you would’ve when you were 23 & had to include your parent’s income.

I’m 19, turning 20 in the summer. I just really don’t want to live with young freshman -.-

@mytime, you’re going to need to change your FAFSA to off campus via calling or doing it on davis’s myawards site. I’m not sure what kind of a difference it would be. That’s the only thing I’m worrying about.

^ thanks seet0o! also, i’m assuming davis houses people according to their age when the school year starts, so by then you’ll be 20. =]

I’m sure Davis will pair up by age, but I’m not sure Ramble apartments will. I’m really leaning towards going there, probably going to email my application tomorrow after some questions. It’s so exciting.

I want to apply for the Ramble apartments ASAP. I’m leaning heavily towards Ramble instead of the residence halls. Also, if I can get a 3/3 for $750 I think I can manage it with grants/loans.

I was thinking about that too because a 3/3 has a special offer of 1 months free rent right?

^ yes! I saw that 1-month free offer too. Sounds pretty nice =D Plus they have some kind of flat screen TV offer LOL. Added bonus! =P

If they guarantee housing for transfer students, what do you get if you wait till June 1st to sign up?

Well, they both have the tv offer lol. I’m leaning towards the 3 bedroom too. It’d be saving like 500 dollars I guess.

^ @wwlink I think they will still offer you a space at Cuarto, even if you wait till June 1st. I think it’s one a first come first serve basis though. but I could be wrong. [UC Davis Student Housing: Transfer Student Residence Hall Option](http://housing.ucdavis.edu/prospective/transfers_2011_RH.asp)

i heard there’s a lot of hidden things with guaranteed housing… Like they say guaranteed housing but they’ll only have space at Cuarto like mytime said. I’m not sure how it works. Living at Ramble is cheaper than on campus anyway. lol

so are you pretty sure you’re applying @ Ramble? Without @Econtran I wouldn’t have known about the place…thanks a lot! :D

Well I have to call the financial aid office tomorrow to see if the offer is going to be any different from living on and off campus first, but for now I’m probably going to apply for Ramble. We should totally live together lol. Would be fun

But yeah econtran’s awesome.

^ Oh yeah…I forgot about the on campus/off campus thing. Have to call UCD as well. Update and let us know what they say. I definitely want to apply

will do boss!
