What does $750 include, and what’s a 3/3? Three bedrooms, three occupants?

Man, I hope it includes a meal plan, because otherwise that’s a hell of a lot more money than you’d pay to share an apartment in Sacramento and take the shuttle. I mean, I’m planning to buy an entire house, and I couldn’t afford that as my monthly rent or mortgage payment!

These are apartments on campus, but they’re classified as off campus. The 750 includes bed, bath, utilities, everything you can imagine I think. The 3/3 means 3 bedrooms 3 bathrooms, yes private bathroom… And for a meal plan, I have no idea about that. But I’m wondering if I’m allowed to purchase a meal plan if I’m not living on campus. i.e living at Ramble.

Any of you planning on going to UCD since all decisions are out & there are a ton of rejections. Just a couple questions for y’all.

Are you going to decision day on May 13th?
No. I’m not.

Are you going to attend the orientation? If yes, are you excited!?
Maybe, I’m still trying to decide whether to transfer as a Psych major (not sure what careers i could get out of it besides counseling ones) or stay home for one more year and go for a nursing major (advice anyone? lol). BUT! If i do decide to attend, I’ll be there on the 24th!

Living on campus or not? If so, where at?
No idea where I’m living if i attend, i love the Ramble apartments so much but most people i know already have housing from prior years of attendance. If anything I’ll be in South Davis, Sorrento area

Are you planning on changing major/double majoring?
Not sure yet, I want a career more in the medical area/science-y careers

If there are any other questions you eager UCD students want to know, post here!

@mytime. I just realized that I read the financial aid offer all wrong -.- The basic living cost was the estimated cost of living on campus, not the amount that they’re offering us.

Hopefully our financial aid offers will stay the same when we change to off campus living.

Edit: I think what will happen is that our estimated cost of living will be lowered, since it’s cheaper to live off campus.

Eric: They required me to get a B in my class under conditions of admission It wouldn’t have phased me, but something went south last month and I did bad on one of the tests lol.

Are you going to decision day on May 13th?
No, I was just up there a few weeks ago and can’t afford to go up again (I’m in SoCal.)

Are you going to attend the orientation? If yes, are you excited!?
Yes. Yeah, I’m pretty excited.

Living on campus or not? If so, where at?
Yep. I’m terrible at meeting people, so I’m hoping this helps! I’m looking at Cuarto, perhaps. Unfortunately, all of the transfer housing has a rep for being antisocial. :(

Are you planning on changing major/double majoring?
Possibly double majoring. I’m currently a linguistics major, but I’ve been doing theater all my life and considering adding that as a second major. I don’t know if I could go two years without performing.

Hey Guys –
There is a way to change your housing online.
When you login to MyAwards, click on the button at the bottom of the page that says:
“Continue - See Your Award Details and Requirements”
Then you will be taken to another page that asks if you have any additional resources to declare. Click the button that says no. Then you will be taken another page. Scroll to the bottom and you will see a table that says “Important Links”, one of them will say “Request Change in Aid”. If you click on that link, you can change your housing status.

With that said, I’m pretty sure that if you change your housing status from on campus to off campus that you will get less aid overall. They are determining how much aid to give you based on their estimates and they estimate that it costs more to live on campus.

I know, I wish Cuarto didn’t have that reputation. Any past UCD transfers want to talk a little bit about the cuarto dorm experience?
If I don’t get a room at Ramble, I will go for the residence halls. Waiting to see what UCD offers, though.

@amsstory I’m guessing my loan offer will be lessened if I change my housing option. D:

So the Ramble Apartments look awesome! Can you rent an entire apartment, or are you only allowed to rent a room? I am in a relationship and my significant other and I do not want to share our space with another person.

To be honest, I don’t think you’ll have much trouble finding room mates to share a real apartment and/or house/condo/whatever if you really want to go that route. I have 2 friends at UCD and both suggested they could help me there. o_O Go join the facebook group and ask around maybe?

amsstory - I think you can only get a room at the Ramble apartments. However, there is the Veridian unit also at West Village which offers a one bedroom option, which you may be able to share. [UC Davis West Village](http://www.ucdaviswestvillage.com/)

Definitely call them up about it. Also they’d be more than happy to send you an application just to look over the pricing and what not.

So I just called the number on the Ramble site (866.721.8930). Is that the number you guys called? Because the lady who answered (and I was surprised anyone answered at 11pm on a Sunday) said that there were no applications to email and that applications weren’t available yet.

She also said only 12-month leases were available. Were you guys aware of this/do you care? I was hoping for a lease just for the school year. =/

^ really? strange! I too called that number and the guy I spoke with promptly emailed me the application after told him my email addy.

Call again during the day! hopefully you will get that response, lol.

Also, I like the 12-month lease. I plan on doing summer school after spring quarter, so the August 31st move out date works out all right.
