Demographics

State (if domestic applicant): ALASKA (yeah, I’m surprised too)

Gender: Female

Applied for need-based financial aid?: yes but I don’t think I’ll recieve any

Highest level of parent education: Asssociate’s Degree
Living with both, one, or no parents?: both

General Comments:
I’m honestly really surprised I got in. I’m graduating early, so I only had three years of high school to put on my application. Also, I didn’t expect much because I’m from Alaska. However, I am BEYOND excited that I was admitted, because Davis was my first choice. I also played my college applications really risky because I only applied to one other school (Montana State, accepted with scholarship). Overall, I am so excited.

Decision: ADMITTED!!!

Major: Political Science
GPA: 3.38 (unweighted)
SAT: 1590
Gender: Male

Strengths: SAT probably, got extremely lucky with that test being super easy the one time I took it, possibly essays? i see no other reason why they might have considered me
Weaknesses: GPA, like everything else lol?

Comments:
WHY IN THE WORLD DID THEY TAKE ME I LOVE YOU SO MUCH THANK YOU YESSS

Don’t be discouraged if you have a low GPA! I am proof that the UCs (at least Davis) looks at other things besides GPA

still not sure why they took me but im not going to ask questions

Accepted: UCSB chancellor’s invitation; presumed acceptance
Waitlisted: Cal Poly SLO (Bio Sci)

UC Davis is my daughter’s top choice! Several friends with similar academics were waitlisted, so she’s relieved. We thought Cal Poly would be a sure thing with her numbers, but apparently Biological Sciences is almost as impacted as CS this year. So she was thrilled to get the email from Davis today. Good luck to everyone on the UCD waitlist.
