Any Acceptees thinking of applying? Can any UCDavis students talk about the benefits of the honors program?

I'm at UC Davis right now, and I'm applying (after first year). Basically you take the same classes, but you have some other classes in addition to it. The coursework isn't harder, you basically talk more in depth about the subject, sometimes 3:1 with a professor, so you get to know them much better. <--Letters of Rec!!!. So I recommend you apply, I just sent in my app. They say acceptance rate is about 35-40%.

ilikeoranges, would you choose UCD honors over Cal/UCLA/UCSD and if so why?

Hmm any other benefits to the UCD honors program? priority registration?

bump...

bump...

I was accepted into NYU, UCSD, UCD, and the other UCs excluding LA and Cal as a freshman. I don't know much about the other UCs' Honor programs, but I went to an informational meeting this quarter for UCD Honors Challenge and it seems like more in-depth discussion, fun/interesting projects, and much closer interaction with professors. I think that it'll probably be pretty fun, look good on a resume, and I could probably get a letter of recommendation from it, which would be useful since I want to transfer to Cal or LA or maybe some private school. Also, if you don't apply while you are incoming freshman/transfer or at the end of the first year as a freshman, you do not have the option of later applying.
