no, the universities tend to find different ways for transfers to meet other trasnfer..

I transferred from a CC into UCD, and I think there are positives and negatives to both sides. If I had to do it over again, I don't know which way I would go.

For me personally, I'm a math major and went to a CC that had a really good math program. Instead of taking calculus classes with 300 students taught by a grad student, mine were 30 students taught by a professor, so that's a nice benefit.

It's funny that junior colleges are called "Community" colleges, because I think the main element that's lacking is a sense of community. Most of the students were commuters, a LOT of them had no drive. At UCD, the idea that you could just stop going to school for the rest of your life is almost non-existant; at a community college, it's the majority. Sometimes just the presence of that kind of thinking can weigh you down.

I decided after all to go to UCD for my GE,

To anyone at UCD:

How is the transportation? I am going to take the plane for my Summer Advising but I do not know how to get to UCD from the airport... any ideas?

thanks

I'm assuming you're flying into Sacramento International, yes?

Yolobus 42B will take you from the Terminal to Memorial Union at UCD. Takes about an hour, costs $1.50

to go from Davis to the Airport, take 42A

If you're flying into SFO or Oakland, you should be able to take a train to Davis and then take the A line to Memorial Union

Cardinal, you mentioned you're changing your major from English to IFS (Interdisciplinary Field Studies). I'm just curious as to what that is? What type of classes do you take? What do you plan to do with this degree? What are the career opportunities? Thanks.
