UCD or UCI?

So i received my acceptances from ucd and uci and am having a hard time deciding which I want to go to. I live in norcal so ucdavis would be most convenient for me. Also, i hear the biology programs at davis are much better than uci, correct me if im wrong.

Ive talked to a few people that are actually at davis who think it is boring. Ive been to uci a few times and i just love the campus, but the only thing holding me back is that uci doesnt have a broad choice of majors and is a pretty far from home. considering that i am a biology major, it would make more sense for me to go to davis.

im just wondering if anyone could list out some pros and cons between the two universities. What is the social scene like between the two schools? Is there a lot of research opportunities at UCI or would there be more at Davis?

excitement doesn’t find you, YOU have to find it. Davis has an active greek scene, the Aggie pack is intense, most of the people are involved in IM sports, it’s an hour away from SF and Tahoe and only 15 minutes away from sac, They have a D1 football team. If you are bored it’s your own fault…

i think it all comes down to location. do you want to feel comfortable and having access to home when you want it or stuck in socal? or do you want to try something entirely new and different! socal kinda has a different vibe too. well thats my view on it

deep down, you were waiting for me to make this decision for you. Go to Davis :)

I got Regents at UCI and I’ll be going to Davis if I don’t get into Cal.

Davis is a great school, especially for your major

UCI is a commuter college. Most of the students that go there still live with their parents and keep their same social clicks and circle of friends that they had in high school. I wouldn’t call it the most socially vibrant place, but on the other hand, living in socal you have the beach and 340 days of sunshine per year… and very good looking women. =)

Davis on the other… I drove through Davis once and did not notice I had passed through a town/city.
