UCD or UCR for Econ?

Which school would be better for econ? I want to go to Davis but the allergies will kill me, and Would riverside be better? i cant decide.

i don’t know too much about this, but i have heard of davis’s econ department being decent and have never heard any mention of riverside’s department…

i dont knw if your looking to get into business, but UCR has a business school while UCD doesnt.

Ucd!!!

I don’t know about UCR’s econ program but they have a pretty good business undergraduate program. Like most of the UCs, Davis does not have an undergraduate business program. They do have an economics program, but it is in the division of social sciences, and that is quite different from a business school. I HEARD UC davis is pretty competitive for econ major so if you are specifically looking for econ major, then I would say UC Davis.

thanks guys…I was thinking of going in a business direction after and getting my MBA

UCD has a solid rep for econ they’re 4th ranked in the UC system(UCB is first, UCLA and UCSD are tied from 2nd)

UCR not so much.

UCD is a great school!

UCD > UCR. Visit both places though because some people just dont like Davis for some reason… but then again if UCR is ur only alternative…

UCD!

The only major problem with Davis is its location, to be honest. If it wasn’t located where it was I am sure it would attract more people. Not a lot of nightclubs and fun things, I suppose. You can tell it’s a pretty good school because even though it’s in a crappy area near Sacramento (though the town is nice and the campus is beautiful imo) it still attracts many applications. It is hot in summer and fairly cold in winter. Doesn’t rain much but when it does it’s heavy. On that note, Riverside is in the desert. So if its hot in Davis it’s probably hellish @ Riverside (nice misnomer).

As for the respective departments I have heard of Davis’ decent econ department but I haven’t heard anything about Riverside’s.
