UCD transfer conditions

conditions of admission:
Successfully complete all courses listed on your application as " in-progress" or "planned" and maintain the grade-point average you reported on your application with no grade less than "C" or your admission will be cancelled. If you receive any grade lower than "C", you must report to us in writing. You may not drop or withdraw from any courses "in-progress" or "planned".

I had withdrawn one of my courses "in-progress" around late february. So, I wasn't aware about this condition until i was accepted. I am planning to take this course over the summer with my other "planned" courses. What do u guys think?

ny, same conditions apply to fresh applicants. A girl i know last year got a D in Calc BC first smester and didn't even take the second semester. SO there is hope for u

ucd doesnt accept summer course work.

are u kidding me?

then why do they have these other conditions?

1.
Complete a minimum of 34 transferable semester units in-progress or planned for 2004-2005 academic year (Fall, Spring, Summer) with "C" grades or better.

6.
Have your official final college transcript(s), including high school transcript sent to Undergraduate Admissions by July 15 or for enrollees with summer work, September 1.
Failure to submit required transcript(s) by deadline will result in your admission being cancelled.

I believe UCLA is the only UC that doesn't accept summer course work for transfer. Ultimately you do get credit for it, but it is not factored into meeting your credit reqs for admission to UCLA.

For UC Davis TAA students, 60 units are required by spring before you transfer, but it is only reccomended for other students:

*Junior-Level Class Standing

You must have completed 60 semester or 90 quarter transferable units by the time you plan to transfer. However, you are strongly encouraged to complete these units by the end of the spring term prior to fall enrollment. Given the impact of California's budget crisis on both the University of California and California community colleges, UC Davis may be unable to respond to the increasing number of transfer applications by increasing transfer enrollment. Should this be the case, UC Davis will give admission priority to those applicants who will complete 60 semester (90 quarter) transferable units by the spring term before fall enrollment.*

You should notify Davis, and you should be fine.

As for UCLA, I believe UCLA's policy is that once you transfer into UCLA, if you take summer courses in a community college you get course credit but the GPA doesn't get recorded. Before transferring into UCLA, summer in a community college counts along with your fall and spring semesters.

thanks rc251, I just emailed UCD and they told me they are going to evaluate the changes in my schedule.

exilio, UCSD also accepts summer course work.

good news, ucd said that this will not affect my admission status. phewww

nycxkraze, even I put chem on my WIP. If i cannot somehow finish it , I will still be fine? what did they exactly say? Please let me know. thanks

They just e-mail me saying: "This change will not affect your admission status".
I think its ok if it doesn't affect the total # of transferable units, meaning you will still have 60 or more by spring. Another thing is whether the course u dropped is a pre req for your major.

I will have completed 63 transferable semester unit by spring. Since i dropped one of my courses (3 credit), i still manage to have 60 by spring. I'm a mangerial economic major, and the course i drop was astronomy.
I think its best for you to inform them about your situtation, since im not 100% sure. Hope this helps..

I also told UCD that i would retake the course in the summer...iono
