UCD vs. SFSU

I got into:

UCD - Biological Science (want to change to Exercise Biology)
UCSC - Bioengineering: Rehabilitation
SFSU - Kinesiology
SSU - Undeclared (b/c I did not send in my Kinesiology essay)

Rejected from:
UCB - Molecular and Cell Biology - Plan I (Immunology)

I have been thinking about UCSC and have come to realize that it is just not the place for me and although SSU has a beautiful campus I think the same. Plus SSU is giving me almost nothing financially and I have yet to receive my awards from UCSC. Either way, I know I won’t be going there.

I really want to become a physical therapist and I am not sure if it is best that I go straight to a state and study in Kinesiology and hopefully get into their pre-physical therapy program. However, I believe I have worked very hard in school to deserve my claim to attend a UC. In the long run I would like to get into grad school for physical therapy and rehabilitation at UCSF (which I have read that SFSU has strong ties with).

Financially, both SFSU and UCD are giving me a significant amount of money and it is all enough to cover my tuition, or so they seem to make it look that way.

I am from the Bay Area so I am pretty use to being in the city, but I know I’m not aware of all that San Francisco has to offer.I have heard that the Sacramento region can be a little dead, but it seems very similar to Tracy which is manageable enough. If I went to SFSU I would be renting with a friend who is also a part of c/o 2015 and 3 friends that are c/o 2014. I would be dorming if I went to UCD

Anyways, my questions are:

Which school would open more doors for me to physical therapy or just in general?
What are the differences in teaching/learning?
How is commuting from your apartment to SFSU?
How is dorming in UC Davis? Suite vs. Hall
How is commuting in general around SF vs Davis?

They’re probably all good, it depends on how well you do in the courses and what courses are actually offered. I know Davis has a great Exercise Bio program, not sure about the others. It’s intensive, rewarding, and the students get to be used as guinea pigs so you probably want to be fit before entering this program :)

What are the differences in teaching/learning?
Eh…I don’t really know since I haven’t been to the other 3 colleges, but most classes at Davis are a big lecture hall, science classes are usually MWF, great teachers, great peers, pay attention and take notes and you’ll do well.

Dorming is awesome! Great way to meet new people and experience a new way of living. Suites are apparently more family-like, where as halls are more social and more like what you see in the movies. I lived in the halls and had the time of my life. There were so many different people, I never got bored. People who lived in suites weren’t always happy, because you’re expected to do your own cleaning, as one suite gets their own bathroom, so there are roomie complications occassionally living in suites.

How is commuting in general around SF vs Davis?
About an hour and a half drive, without traffic. I probably don’t suggest it unless you have classes 2 or 3 times a week.
