I've been accepted to UC Davis and UC Irvine, both under the major of computer science. I was wondering if anyone had any opinion as to which one has a better program.

Other factors:

Davis is fairly close to me, 1-1.5 hour drive from home, and 1.5 hours from Berkeley (where my brother attends.)

In the graduate rankings, UCI is in a six-way tie for spots #29 to #34, while UCD is in a five-way tie for spots #42 to #46. This isn't a huge difference in reputation, so I would pick the location that works better for you.

UCI has the only stand-alone school of computer science (The Donald Bren School of Information & Computer Sciences) in the UC system, which I guess is something. Donald Bren (the real-life person who Caleb Nichol from "The OC" is based on) donated $20M to UCI last year and they named the school after him. The majority of that gift will be used to recruit top faculty from across the nation to come to UC Irvine.

Thanks for the input, I'm doing research on Davis and Irvine, and so far Irvine is looking good. However, Davis is so close to my parent's house that it'd be economical to even commute.

However, I want college to be an experience, which means i need to leave No-cal.

Please continue giving me input! Also, Please give me links to the locations you guys are presenting your facts from.
