UCD vs UCLA/ Statistics Department/ Integrated Program?

Hi everyone,

I’m a transfer student who just got accepted to UCD as Statistics major. I’m trying to decide between UCD and UCLA. Both school have pro and cons, so I couldn’t make up my mind. One of my most concern is UCD offers the Integrated Program, which allows me to get bachelor and master degree at the same time. Master degree in stats would give me more competitive edges. If anyone is in this program or study stats, can you give me some opinions? How difficult it is to get accepted to the program? How’s workload?

Here is my chart of pros and cons for both school:

UCD:
Cons:

  • I don’t know much about this program.
  • Give me less money. I would graduate with 21k in debt (3 year) , while only 4k (2 year) for UCLA
    Pros:
  • Have better stats department
  • Can do bachelor and master at the same time.
  • In the long term, the cost is less.

UCLA:
Pros:

  • Many research, internship, job opportunities. bigger network
  • Give me more financial aid
  • I can petition to double major in Physics or Applied Math to strengthen my degree
  • Have many big banks, big corp close by
    Cons:
  • Stats dept doesn’t rank high
  • Doesn’t have integrate program.

Can you give me some advices to choose btw two schools?
