S just got accepted today! The website still says they’re waiting for his transcript, so there must be a lag between UCF receiving the transcript and notification of admission decision.

Question for those accepted: Do you have to accept the offer first (and pay the $200 deposit) before being considered for Burnett College and/or eligibility for any scholarship funds? Thanks!
When I got accepted, I received my scholarship offer about a week later on My UCF without paying my deposit.I received my application to apply to the Burnett Honors College about a month later!!! Congrats!!!
@Floridaball I called last week and they said that they have begun reviewing for scholarships and the offers should be coming out end of October/early November. Good luck!
@VABogart My son’s status page still says they are waiting for a transcript but I know it was sent electronically a couple of weeks ago so I’m thinking they have it.
How did they notify you of acceptance? Was it an email or was it on the status page?
@VABogart Congratulations! My D got her acceptance last week and her official letter came yesterday.
You do not need to accept the offer to apply to Burnett, but you may want to wait for scholarship results before applying as extra consideration is given to Provost Scholarship winners. You actually apply with a paper application that you request on-line. When you request the application packet it asks if you are a NMSF or a Provost scholar, so my D is waiting on the scholarship announcements.
I did hear that UCF likes to receive the FASFA by November 1, even if do not think you will qualify for need based aid. They like to see the total picture of an applicant so they can produce the best “package” of financial aid. The “package” includes need based aid, loans, work study and merit scholarships.
@STEM2017 My D had to send her transcript twice. It showed up on the web site three days after the second transmittal, her school transmits transcripts electronically but often has to send more than once (probably a school administrative issue). Below is her timeline. Please note her acceptance was probably quicker since she was auto-admit with the Top 10 Knight Program.
Monday 10/03 - Second transcript request
Wednesday 10/05 - Transcript shown as revised on the status page
Thursday/Friday 10/06&07 - Closed for Matthew
Monday 10/10 - Acceptance on status page
Monday 10/17 - Acceptance letter arrives
In our case, his “To Do” list had Transcript listed. Now his To Do list is blank but on his status page it still says WAITING FOR TRANSCRIPT (it has said this all along).
@STEM2017 UCF notified S of acceptance both ways. Interestingly, S found out on the web page yesterday, and this afternoon, he received an e-mail from UCF saying his admission status has been updated. Oops. Either a quick web page or slow e-mail.
9/6/16 Application Submitted
9/28/16 High School Sends Transcript
10/17/16 Acceptance from UCF
Son called UCF this morning. Even though his status page says “WAITING FOR OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT,” they said they have the transcript and his application is complete. Now just the waiting.
@Smileytia98 No, you don’t have to send in your AP scores, before being accepted. However, if they are on your transcripts, they may appear in the UCF portal.
How did you all learn you were accepted? Did you find out through your MyUCF? or did you receive an email? My D applied two weeks ago, but they were waiting for transcripts. However, we are living overseas, so it may take longer for us. We are also waiting on USF.
@madodem1368 It’s in the MyUCF portal. Select “Student Self Service”, and then scroll down to Undergraduate admissions and select the “Undergraduate Application Status”. This is the same way to check on your transcripts status and test results (ACT/SAT/AP).
If you’ve been accepted, you’ll see the following up top and a prompt to Accept or Decline the offer. Note that you don’t have to accept it now, only when you’re ready to commit and pay the $200 enrollment fee.
We plan on waiting till after the scholarships are announced. You may want to see if they reward your son the Knights Achievement award (OOS scholarship) before submitting the application. See CaucAsianDad comment on it…
