I graduated from UF in May of 2011 with a degree in the business administration program there. (Economics). My GPA was 3.63

I am thinking about attending UCF grad, I meet all the requirements I believe, and I scored a pretty decent score on the GMAT, more than what is required by UCF I believe.

I have been unable to find a job and am deciding if I should pursue the grad program there. I figure as long as I can get a masters degree and then sit for the CPA, it shouldn't matter that much.

There is a difference in schools, but a CPA is a CPA right?

Accounting would definitely be a much more sound and secure major correct?

Please let me know, I would appreciate it greatly

It may not be exciting, but if you want a job after college/grad school, accounting is a great major. Plus it is a great background for almost anything in business.
Like anything, the better the school the better the chance of the top firms recruiting there Maybe call UCF career placement office or accounting department office and see what firms recruit there and what percent of the students get jobs after graduation.

Another thing to inquire about is the proportion of alumni who pass the CPA on the first try. It will suck if you are not well prepared and have to sit multiple times.

I don’t know if its true or a play on words but apparently, UCF
Masters graduates have been in the top five nationally on the CPA a couple of times
