What does this mean? I am an out of state student, so how would housing work?
Sometimes the universities will offer summer admission to students who are not quite as competitive as their overall fall class. It’s kind of a tried and true way for kids who want to go to one of the more competitive state unis (FSU/UCF/UFlorida) but whose CV isn’t…quite…there for admission to the regular fall term. It generally works out pretty well. And I’d contact the school with specific questions, like housing.
My daughter was OOS and also applied for Summer because she knew her grades/stats weren’t as competitive as kids coming in for a Fall start. This is going back 4 years now. This was her #1 school.
You’ll need to pick a dorm for Summer only. Then you’ll have to move everything out for 2 or 3 weeks at the end of the Summer B term, and move back in to a NEW dorm for Fall/Spring semester. You won’t have the same dorm room from Summer to Fall, but you do have the same dorm room from Fall to Spring.
UCF offers summer as an option if your stats are on the fence. If you don’t accept their offer for Summer start, you will not be admitted.
It was good for my daughter, it gave her the opportunity to meet new friends and get a feel for the campus and surrounding area, so when Fall rolled around, she knew her way around.
