@omarrrr thanks & congratulations!! I sent mine off on Friday, but I honestly don’t know if I’ll get in or not. I think my stats, essays, LORs, etc. are pretty strong, but my SAT/ACT scores are a little below average, so it just depends how heavily they rely on the test scores…

Going to tour the Burnett Honors College next week. The opportunities they provide are awesome.

@candyce1 when your son was accepted, what did it say on myhonors? I am away from home so I cannot check my mail for a letter; however on myhonors under app decision it says “accepted”… does that mean I was accepted to the honors college or is that just the decision for ucf in general (as I was accepted about a month ago)?

@ucf2018 I am not sure what the Honors said at the time. I found out in the snail mail.
Today he received word that he received the Provost Scholarship.

Wait…myhonors works??? Oi ok… So I was accepted into honors I think a month ago but I haven’t been able to sign into myhonors. Is the “Account Name” and "Password"the same info for myUCF? I am confused…

@sewin2music Yep! It’s just your NID and my ucf password… I had to call bhc to have my account set up last week because it wasn’t working before

@ucf2018 Ohhhh ok. I’ve been trying to use my NID and the myUCF password. I guess I’ll have to call after the break. Thank you!!

Did they give you an amount for the Provost? My daughter received notification that she was awarded the scholarship but I can’t find any information on amounts.

@sewin2music okay so my letter just arrived and I was accepted into honors!! Are you for sure going to ucf next year or still deciding?

@ucf2018 Congrats!! The Honors college has so many opportunities for its students!! I’m waiting on my National Merit Finalist status, which will be released in February, before I commit because that determines my scholarship at UCF. Besides that, I really love UCF and will very likely be attending next year! I just have to visit one other college but I think I’m going to still like UCF better.

@sewin2music yay that’s exciting!! So ready for next year now

Provost in the past was around $30000 total

@ucf2018 Hi… Congrats on getting into Honors!! My D just sent her application in for honors last week. I’m not sure she’ll make the cut. Her SAT score was 1350. Lots of APs, honors, etc. Do you think she has a shot? I’m not sure what SAT scores are average for getting in. I know you thought yours were below average but don’t know what your score was. The scores posted are really high.

@beachkidd my sat was 1370 and my act was 31. That average stats online are so high that I honestly thought I’d be deferred at best. I don’t know what parts of the application honors weighs most heavily, but I feel my essays and letters of rec were pretty strong and helped my overall app. I don’t know what the rest of your daughter’s stats were, but if you’re mainly worried about the sat, her score is only 20 pts lower than mine so if the rest of her app was what honors is looking for, I definitely think she still has a shot!! I saw I was accepted on myhonors about two weeks after my app was received. The letter came about 3-4 days later. I wish your daughter the best of luck!!

@ucf2018 Thanks so much for the reply and for sharing your stats with me. The stats posted online are pretty intimidating. I feel better now that maybe she does have a shot! The BHC will seal the deal for her attending UCF. It really offers some great opportunities. I’ll post back once we hear something. Thanks again!!

@beachkidd good luck to your Daughter with the honor application!

@Mom2NND Thanks so much! Is your daughter applying to honors also?

@beachkidd yes she will apply to honors college, she is working on the application.
