ucf burnett honors fall 2018 stats

@ucf2018 , I have not made a final decision regarding college but if I decide on UCF then yes, I will definitely be living in the Towers!

Date applied: (postmarked) Jan 8, 2018
Date accepted: got the letter today
GPA (uw/w): unweighted 3.8, weighted 5.1
SAT/ACT scores: new SAT 1400

of AP/IB/DE classes: 8 APs and 12 DE classes

Extra-curriculars: NHS, park clean-up, church carnival volunteer, Mu Alpha Theta.
Strength of personal statement?: Interesting, I think. I talked about my childhood and environmental issues and stuff.
LOR?: Didn’t include any.
Additional creative work?: Nope.

Any scholarships/awards?: Bright futures (Academic) but no UCF scholarships (I’m beginning to loose hope)
major: computer science

I honestly don’t think if I’ll be able to afford UCF without a scholarship though.

Just curious to see if anyone’s child is interested in the MEDD program? Prior to being admitted to MEDD, you have to be admitted to BHC. Haven’t heard from BHC and application was sent Jan 12.

My son was accepted to the BHC. He has a 1390 SAT and 4.5 weighted GPA. The letter encouraged him to accept asap as there are limited spots, however he is still waiting to hear from the film school so can’t commit to BHC yet. Sounds like the BHC has a great program and he is excited to visit. good luck to everyone.

Date applied: Jan 16, 2018
Date accepted: Jan 29, 2018, but myHonors said “Accepted” since before that
GPA (uw/w): 4.0 UW. Idk my weighted UCF GPA, but my high school says 5.9
SAT/ACT scores: 1420 SAT new version
Academic course level: AP, Honors, and dual enrollment

of AP/IB/DE classes: AP Human Geo, AP World History, AP Psych. DE: Going to receive AA degree (about 60 credits)

Extra-curriculars: National Honors Society, volunteered at hospital for 100 hours, been playing piano for 11 years, in a rock band for 2 years, tennis for 3 years.
Strength of personal statement?: Pretty funny tbh, a time when I used humor to diffuse a situation.
LOR?: Included one from my history professor from my CC.
Additional creative work?: None

Any scholarships/awards?: None yet!

I also have a question: On myHonors, under “App Status” it says “Immediate Admission”. Since I’m not a National Merit or Provost Scholar, does anyone know why it would say that/does anyone else see it too? I’ve been pretty curious about which part of my application would lead to immediate admission. I wasn’t even sure I’d get in because of how high their stats are.

Has anyone been admitted to the BHC and returned their Honors Reply Form? I sent mine a week and a half ago but it hasn’t showed up as received yet on the myHonors portal.

My son sent his back about a week ago and it showed up on his My Honors login as being received within a few days of mailing it out. I would call them and check on the status of it.

@sparty230 Will do! Thank you!!

Date applied: March 30th
Date accepted: April 13th
GPA (uw/w): 3.93/4.8
SAT/ACT scores: 1420 (superscore)

of AP/IB/DE classes: 9 AP

Extra-curriculars: french honor society president/historian, hospital volunteer, daycare volunteer, tax volunteer, financial internship
Strength of personal statement?: i didnt even write an essay that had to do with their prompt, i just reused my common app essay… but my common app essay was pretty good
LOR?: both were bad in my opinion
Additional creative work?: none

Any scholarships/awards?: 10k pegasus but that’s it. Overall idk how I got accepted, but I will probably be attending because I like it better than UF’s large campus
