UCF chance me!

3.2 UW gpa. (low i know) idk what my UCF weighted gpa would be..
OOS as well!
Took advanced/honors classes freshman and sophomore year
then took IB classes junior and (going to be) senior year. Plus I am in the IB program
and my school has AP and IB classes together. So im taking the AP exams even though on my school transcript it only says IB classes.

SAT score: 1750 first time. (didnt have time to study at all so im retaking it.. hope to get much higher)

I also have a lot of extra curricular activities
piano (12yrs), dance(10yrs),swimming (3yrs), volunteer work (200+)
and some more.

You’re a well rounded student which is something that UCF admissions counselors look for. I would suggest that your Senior schedule strength be vert strong and your GPA move a little bit higher. Other than those things I would say that you are a very good prospect that has an excellent chance of getting in!

my gpa is 3.58 W (LOW, SUPER LOW I KNOW!!) totally misguessed it.
but its a 3.58 going by the
4.0 - A
3.7 - A-
3.3 - B+
3.0 - B
2.7 - B-
2.3 - C+ etc…
and of course the added +.5 honors and +1 AP/IB added in there.
I thought it would be higher since i am in IB but ive only been in IB this year (junior year) so it didnt really boost up my gpa that much…

correct me if i am wrong with this gpa scale.
thank you!

The scale it different it’s the basic.

A 4.0
B 3.9
C 3.8
D 3.7
F 3.6

only plus .5 for honors and plus 1.0 for ap classes

and only main Core classes. No extra curricular classes.

^ that scale would be nice.

i dont think thats their scale…
that would be ridiculous

and yes i know its only core classes
and i already stated the fact that i know about the +.5 and +1

Sadly, UCF look at GPA and test scores more than anything. I have a feeling they might defer your until you send in semester grades, but everything else looks fine.

And LOL @ wicked’s GPA scale. I would be content with receiving straight F’s and getting a 3.6 GPA if that was the case.

Haha guess I am failing high school then?! This is the scale:
A- 4.0
B- 3.0
C- 2.0
D- 1.0
F- 0

Add .5 for honors and 1 for AP

are you sure an A- is a 4.0?

Those are just dashes not minuses but I don’t think plus or minuses have any weight on your gpa. That’s what it says on my report card every marking period.

do you know for sure that UCF only calculates by A, B,C, no + or -?

If the 4/3/2/1 scale is correct then my W gpa would be a 3.7 gpa

They don’t get to see +s or -s on your transcripts Vodka, simply a single letter grade, no numbers. They only do certain classes though.

But doesnt my school send in the transcript so they see the + and -
or does UCF change it to solid letter grades and then convert them to 4/3/2 etc?
because if they do then it helps my gpa! =) haha

Does your school keep the +s, -s on the transcript? I guess I didn’t know places did that. On my transcripts, it only says the class, code, year, number of credits, and a grade, no +s or -s D:

I think so… but what does UCF do with them if they see the + and -?

just give it a solid letter grade.

"How is my high school GPA calculated?

Your GPA is recalculated based on the academic core courses (including English, math, science, social studies and foreign language). UCF uses a 4.0 grading scale, and also awards additional quality points for any weighted courses within the academic core. Courses marked as Pre-AP, Pre-IB, Pre-AICE, and Honors are given an additional .5 quality point.

Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), Advanced International Certification of Education (AICE), and Dual Enrollment (DE) courses are given 1 additional quality point.

"

That’s the only info they provide online. It’s not specific, but I doubt they’d do +s or -s. Not every school provides them, so it would be really unfair if they took them in to consideration. I know my school doesn’t.
