UCF just called my house and called to ask if I had any questions about the campus, social life, etc. and said it was a courtesy call. (:

Has anyone else received this call? Is this a good sign?

someone on another thread got it

Did you happen to visit the campus? Usually that can be the motive behind calling. Your name is on the list, and they call to answer any questions. I visited Florida State University, Southern Illinois university, Northeren Illinois University, Illinois State University, and western Michigan university-I recieved calls from all of them, asking if I had any questions. If you didn’t visit the campus, maybe they’re calling people on the mailing list and such? If so, I want a call. I’d be on the phone for hours with them:)

My D received a call from admissions. She applied in Aug. But no acceptance as of yet.
Stats:
1140 r and math
620 writing
4.2gpa

I just got that call a minute ago

i want one!!! lol

D just received a courtesy call today. How many of those that received a phone call received an admission decision after the phone call? If you received a decision how long between phone call and posting on page? Just trying to determine if the phone call means that a decision is close whether it’s an acceptance, denial or deferment.

My quess is that is has to do with the admission office. If I were them, I’d be overwhelmed with the amount of calls coming from parents/students, questioning their admission status. I’ve had everything complete since september 2nd, and have not called them once. I’m very anxious, and very scared, but rushing them will help NO ONE in the end. I believe they’re having their students who work in the office call up random individuals on the mail list, visit list, etc, and asking if they have any questions, to draw time. To try to draw the attention away from the admissions office, and make it look like something productive is going on in there. One thing is for sure-this year, acceptences and rejections are VERY unpredictable. We have kids getting into summer with 23 ACT and 3.6 GPA’s, but rejections for the same term for students with even HIGHER stats. I’m done trying to find a pattern, and I’ll simply wait.
