Hi, I'm looking for someone who has seen the different styles of dorms at UCF to enlighten me.

I'm in Honors and LEAD (NM Scholar), but I'm sure that, by this time, housing is full for both (which is fine, it saves me scholarship money anyway). So, I'm deciding where I want to stay. Lake Claire looks really nice, and the single room is an attractive option, but someone told me that those fill up right away after housing opens (yet there is still an option to list it as a preference, but it does say it's limited). Anyway, I'm thinking about not even bothering applying there, because I want to be close to the main part of campus anyway, the rec center, Ferrell commons, etc.

My question is, what are the differences between Apollo, Libra, and Nike/Hercules? Besides location. I know Apollo is oldest, but renovated. Are the renovations nice? Is it noticeably more run down than the newer dorms? Which are the most social, especially for first-year students? Do any have significantly more room to work with?

I rally like the Apollo floor plan with that extra living room when you walk in, but it's still cheaper and it makes me wonder why. Libra I know is mostly for freshman, so if Apollo is pretty bad on room quality, I'll probably go there if it's a good dorm to stay in and meet other freshmen. Basically, from anyone who has lived in or seen any or all of these dorms, what should I know, and which would you recommend?
