I have applied to UCF and am now awaiting a decision on my acceptance, I was wondering if anybody had the amounts and requirements for the OOS scholarships this year?? I have a 4.0 GPA with a 1280 SAT and am taking the ACT next weekend, 300+ community service hours, Varsity Basketball since freshman year, NHS, etc. If anybody has any information on the Pegasus, Knights Achievement, or Provost Scholarships please let me know. Thank you.
UCF doesn’t typically publish it’s merit criteria, as you might see with other Florida schools like USF and Florida Gulf Coast. Last year, my daughter who is in-state, had very similar stats to yours (3.94 recalculated GPA and a 1270), applied pretty early and did not receive any merit scholarship offers from UCF with her acceptance. She did get offers from USF and FGCU. If you really want to dig, I seem to remember seeing a thread where a poster on this site made some calculated guesses on where the lines are drawn on merit awards for UCF, but it’s all intelligent conjecture. The good news is that your stats are in the lane for UCF.
You likely qualify for $9,000 per year from USF and $10,000 per year from FGCU but would need to get your applications in soon.
^^^USF’s OOS tuition rate is fairly low (as compared to the other Florida publics) at about $17,324 a year (before you consider the merit scholarships). Throw in a merit scholarship and it’s usually an affordable OOS option (and it’s on par with UCF).
If you search the UCF forum, you’ll find several threads where folks post their stats and what level of scholarship was awarded. That will give you a ballpark idea.
Good Luck!!
