UCF status still shows waiting for official transcripts?

Good morning everyone. I submitted my application to UCF on 10/29/19 and had my high school transcripts sent to them that same date. When I check my application status, it says “waiting for official transcripts.” Every other college I’ve applied to shows they’ve received my transcripts. I’ve actually had my high school transcripts sent to UCF twice because I was worried after two weeks that the status hadn’t changed. I’m wondering if anyone else is experiencing this?

I would call admissions and they can check your file, and if the transcripts are not there, then they can help you troubleshoot.

My friend has the same issue and when she called admissions they told her if you apply via the common app it can take 2-3 weeks for all the information to be processed (which includes transcripts), but call admission yourself just in case!

Okay, thanks for the info.! I did apply through Common App., but I think I’ll give them a call as well.

Did you have any luck?
We are in the same boat. Applied through their portal on the 2nd … they have received official ACT/SAT and AP tests … the transcript was sent on the 6th … still says pending the transcript.

Their on hold notifications clearly states to “be patient” and “don’t send again” but how long to wait before sending again if they didn’t receive them? If we just keep waiting and THEN they say we didn’t get them we are back at square one.

I cannot say that I am impressed with their admissions department’s efficiency.

@CrackintoPieces My friend called again and they checked and told her they received her transcript a while ago, her application status page just hadn’t updated to show her transcript was recieved. That could be the situation for you as well

I called and was told that they are currently processing documents received 2 weeks ago … and until the transcript is processed her application will simply sit and wait.

But was not told whether they actually ^have^ her transcript as it was sent electronically.

What I don’t understand is they have all the test scores including the AP test scores and those got processed with no issue and arrived after her transcript should have.

@CrackintoPieces - I emailed them on 11/22. I just heard back from them today. I got two emails. The first said due to the high volume of applications they’ve received, they’re still processing documents, please don’t re-send. Then I got a second email from them, verifying that they’ve received my transcripts and to allow time for them to be reflected on the student portal. At least I know they’ve received them. Still anxiously waiting for the process to move forward.

Last year, at least, they recalculated your GPA by hand to their specific formula. That takes awhile…
@CrackintoPieces - Your D’s app should go to Luke VanBlaricom since she’s a NMSF. If your D follows up again after the holidays, have her email Luke to check on her transcript status. Theoretically, that should get things moving again. His email is listed on this page: https://www.ucf.edu/admissions/undergraduate/contact/

@Reebtoor

D emailed Luke on the 25th (last Monday). He confirmed what had been in my phone call that as of the 26th they were still processing transcripts that were received up until the 16th and to be patient. Added that if it hasn’t processed soon that he would look into it further.

Out of curiosity, do you know how their formula adjusts GPA? D has 3 classes she took in MS that are on her HS transcript. They are her only Bs and she would love to have them disappear!

The time zone difference kills us as we are 3 hours behind and D starts classes here at 6:45am … by the time she is out of school here at 3pm, they are closed there so I am having to do most phone calls, etc. myself.

@CrackintoPieces Excellent. If Luke has already been contacted, things should proceed smoothly.

On UCF’s FAQ page, it says:

Basically, they drop all art, music, theater, non-core subject electives, PE & such. It also adjusts all weighted formulas to be alike.

UCF comes back from Thanksgiving break & almost immediately heads into finals, so it’ll be crazy there this week. Your D should have a decision very soon.
@UCFhopes2020 At least you know they have it!
