I’m an international student currently in a community college. My major is Aerospace Engineering and i’m about to transfer.
My options are Embry Riddle, UCF, UF, or Georgia Tech.
I have a 4.0gpa and i’m not planning to get loans. I’m also planning to go for my master right after bachelors.
To be really honest, my concern about georgia tech to miss the college life I would have at UF or UCF.
Please give me your point of view!
Thanks
Those are great options! Congratulations. When you refer to “college life”, what exactly are you looking for?
I notice you didn’t list Embry Riddle in your title or in your concern sentence, so maybe you’ve eliminated that choice? It’s a great school (expensive, though) but Daytona is a love it or hate it kind of place. I personally don’t care for Daytona and would rather chew off my arm than be stuck there for 4 years, but many people really love it and of course Embry is well regarded.
Student life isn’t as bad as many make it out at Tech. It is harder as a (junior) transfer student, you will need to make an effort and join some clubs, design teams, etc. However, that’s the case for any transfer student.
Atlanta can be a fun town, with lots to do in town and around Georgia.
I would recommend you visit GT/Atlanta, if you haven’t already done so.
At UF and UCF, they do have a “combined” degree option, where you can earn your BS and MS in five years. UF also has the option to earn a dual BS in Mechanical and Aerospace (it also takes 1 additional year).
Good Luck!
