I was accepted to both, with the Provost scholarship at UCF ($28,000) and the $9,000-something scholarship at FSU. From what I understand, that is FSU's top freshman scholarship. This gives me pause. I think both are great schools and I have also applied to some private schools out of state (I'll hear back from them in March/April). At the moment I am leaning toward UCF. Is anyone else in this situation? What are you going to do?

My son was in same situation, but was then accepted to film school at FSU, so that made our decision. If it weren’t for film school, I would have had a hard time turning down the extra money that UCF offers. Both schools are good and it really comes down to which you prefer unless money is a big factor, and then I would go with UCF. What is your major?
Don’t wait on housing though, especially at FSU - put your deposit down if you haven’t already done so and pick your preferences; if you decide not to go to FSU, you get all of the deposit back except for $50.(at least that was the case last year). Did you get a priority number for housing? I’m not sure how UCF housing works, but could be similar.

Yes UCF! You’d be throwing away money if you didn’t! It’s a good school in a great location!

Since neither school offers a major in neuroscience, I’m going with psychology. I was really impressed with UCF’s honors program and undergrad research opportunities, and don’t know much about the equivalent programs at FSU. I agree, applying for housing anyway at FSU sounds like a good idea. I applied for housing at UCF a couple months ago and I’m pretty sure it’s a similar situation.

Florida State has the oldest [Psychology Department](http://www.psy.fsu.edu/) in Florida and we thought the best undergraduate research opportunities in Florida. Our D1 is now a med 4 at FSU Med (graduates in May as an MD) and attended FSU undergrad as well, where she participated in both Honors and Honors-in-the-Major. While her choice was between FSU and UF I think her experience is instructive. She majored in biochemistry.

I suggest you visit and speak with faculty in the departments which interest you.

Good luck.
