Which school is more of a "party school"? UF is known for being a big party school nationally, and has a very large greek life contributing to the atmosphere. Is UCF comparable or different?

UCF is a big party school, as well. I have many friends who attend UF, and have visited and attended parties there (I’m a UCF student). Both schools have a large amount of parties, UF, from what I’ve seen, does not have more. However, it’s a different party scene. UF seems very ‘house party’ like, and Greek life parties, and that’s usually the extent. UCF has greek parties (Not as many) lots of house/apartment parties, but also city parties-like going downtown to orlando and attending parties there, and clubbing. If you’re basing your decision on with is a bigger party school, first, that’s sad. Second, you won’t go wrong with either school. There’s parties at every college.

I’m actually trying to avoid a big party scene. I want to go wherever the students are less involved in partying all the time, because that is really not my thing and I want to find enough people to hang out with who aren’t into partying.

Well, like I said originally, no matter what college you go to, there will be parties. Some are heavier then others. However, and take this opinion as you may, I think UCF is a lot more alternatives to partying. Because we’re in such a great city, there’s SO much more to do in Orlando. With UF, you can’t do much but party. I party (Even though it wasn’t my scene, but I love being social and that’s all there is to it) but there have been many weekends that we didn’t party, and find super fun things to do. So while both schools are big on parties, UF has more greek life (More crazy parties) and UCF is in a better area if you want alternatives to partying

Lol, whichever school you do decide on, I’m sure you’ll find your own “group” of people who enjoys doing similar activities. I wouldn’t worry too much about the party scene - base your decision on the program (or major) you are looking into and the city itself. Where can you see yourself at more? Social life will come naturally… Hope that made sense.
