UCF vs UF

I need help deciding which school to go to, I already got accepted to UCF and I like the school and area better than UF. But UF is more prestigious than UCF, I am a pre-dental major but I don't want to go to dental school in Florida. Any opinions about both schools and which I should go to?
Thanks

Both are garbage. The only school in florida worth attending is The Florida State University.

nolefreshman, Is that “nole” as in Florida State Seminoles? Do you have experience with UCF or UF? Are you attending Florida State?

Nicole, follow your instincts and more than likely you will end up choosing the right college for you. Good luck!

Florida state sucks balls go too UCF

Thanks @colcon2010 and @Nhusak I’ll prob end up going to UCF I like the feeling of the school better (:

Go to UCF! If you like the school better, then that is where you should go. UCF and UF are so close academic-wise that either one would be fine. I went through the same thing last year, deciding between UF and UCF as a pre-health student and decided to pick UF because I thought the prestige was going to matter. I realized that the prestige isn’t as big of a deal as I thought and I would have been happier at UCF. Pick the school you can picture yourself really enjoying. If you are happier there, you will do better! The potential to do well is really great at either school.

As many posters said, don’t go after prestige. You will not be happy if that’s your deciding factor. Also, as an out of state student (Who attends UCF) I can tell you EVERYONE knows about UCF-at least now they do (We can probably thank our football team for that). People know UCF is a great school, has many opportunities, and is quickly approaching the academic standard that UF holds. Sorry to one of the posters above, but UCF has already surpassed FSU, especially when you consider how competitive it is to get in-FSU is easier then UCF. Pick the school you can see yourself at, and feel most comfortable. If you choose that way you’ll be making the right choice :)

Both are great schools, there’s no mistake in choosing either. Forget about prestige and choose the one you think is right for you. For me, I chose UCF because of the location and have not regretted my decision.

Hi did you get accepted to UF? I have similar stats and would like to know.

Nobody is accepted at UF yet. For pre-dental or pre-health of any sort, I’d go wherever you feel most comfortable and can get the best GPA. The GPA will weigh more heavily in your graduate admissions than any so-called prestige factor. The UCF campus is very nice, and so are the dorms.

@Trisherella I almost commented the same thing the other day, however, the OP posted it in 2014 so it is acceptable to ask if he/she was accepted or not.

haha! Thanks I didn’t notice that. lol.
