I have been accepted to both schools and I want to go for pre med. I am not exactly sure what to major in at each university so any input would help. I know Ucf is huge but I have not seen the campus yet. I did see Usf and I liked the campus but it was dead because it was a Sunday. Which is more of a commuter school? I know Ucf does not have the traditional dorms. My major focus is which one is better for acedemics? Research? Environment and student faculty ratio?

USF, is better for pre-med. Around 80% of students at USF are premed students. Based on the link below it ranks as one of the top 20 pre-med schools in the states along with the University of Miami. UCF is not bad, but if you want a good and strong pre med school USF is the better option.

Additionally, I have taken classes at both Universities, I was a commuter at UCF and dormed at USF. So it all depends on where you plan to live. USF, makes it mandatory to live on campus the first year unless you live in the same county. For any university Biomedical Sciences is good, as well as Health Sciences. Though many might say Health Sciences is not the best, its more of what you make of it. Majoring in Biology and Chemistry can also be a good option. As long as you meet the requirements for med school you will be fine. I will add this however, the area at UCF is much better than USF’s as well as the school spirit and diversity, BUT if you want a better and stronger education in pre med USF is better. I’m currently pre-med Good luck!
