I really need help making a decision. I have been accepted to both and have visited both and they still seem about the same to me. I was wondering if anyone who has gone there or has knowledge of a few of their statistics could give me some more info. BTW, I'm hopefully majoring in Nursing, if not possibly communications or sociology or something. Thanks!

pretty much dead even, usf a little lower standards academically(gave me more etc) for me its just that I live in tampa…not stayin here 4 more years lol

lol okay. so everyones thinking the same thing. that they’re basically neck and neck

yeahh. both are large campus multi programmed schools in an urban center… I personally think UCF is a tad better academically because of the higher standards but USF is still a great school. i hope ucf offers me a decent amount!

Before I FOR SURE decide on the two, I want to see the package ucf offers me. usf has offered a pretty good fin aid package so far.

yeah, they need to hurry up. i mean usf sent theirs in like a week and a half

Yeah I emailed and they said they would start looking at apps for merit based around November 7th

UCF is slightly better academically. And I liked the campus better. But USF was never really an option since I live 20 minutes away from it.

Oh true, I liked the fact the USF had a few more trees, it made it feel a little more homey to me. UCF seemed so open, like the sun was beaming down on me all day at the open house.

"I liked the fact that USF had a few more trees…’

I’m sorry, but that made me laugh! I thought you were being sarcastic for a second there…

And if you do choose to attend UCF, you need to learn to love the sun, haha.

Lol yeah now that I reread it, it’s like “what??”

Yeah I was born in AZ and still haven’t learned to love the sun.

sifantic, i completely read my email wrong, here’s what is said
“Aid for students who are enrolling for the spring semester will begin in mid-November. Once a student shows enrollment the aid will be packaged.”

sorry for the confusion. guess the wait will be a little longer than expected.

i love the sun. shade is for people who like the cold and north…

I dunno everyone seems to think the scholarships are coming soon. That would be nice.

Yeah, I’m more of a Fall girl, not too hot, not too cold with a touch of sun.

USF used to have zero trees on its 1800 acre Tampa campus–before USF was established the campus during WW II was a practice bombing range for an Army Air Base just to the south of campus by today’s Busch Gardens. USF over the years has planted thousands of trees on campus, and has done an excellent job providing shade for rests and socializing out of the direct sun on campus. The only building left from the Army air base era is used today by Mel’s Hot Dogs restaurant which is right by Busch Gardens on Busch Blvd.
