Much like others I have been placed on the waitlist for UCF. Did anyone else get waitlisted then accepted and also when is the last day for the waitlist.
My son will be applying to UCF this fall. May I ask what your stats were to get you waitlisted? GPA? SAT? OOS/IS?
Or at least tell give me a hint as to whether you were higher or lower than the stats below.
My son has a 1360 SAT but hoping to get to 1400 after this Saturday. Recalculated GPA for UCF is 4.647. He is OOS.
Thank you.
For 2016-2017:
UCF offered 4,591 applicants a place on the Waiting list.
1,880 accepted a place on the waiting list
71 wait-listed students were admitted.
This info is available in the common data set (section C2):

Doesn’t look like many get accepted. You may want to move forward with your other options. You can always transfer into UCF at a later date.
@BillyMadison123 The Fall 2016 Freshman Profile:
Average SAT (new SAT): 1324
Average ACT score: 28
Average GPA: 4.0
Your OOS son shouldn’t have any problems with being accepted to the University. They use rolling admissions, so he should be able to apply around Sept 15th, and then by the end of October he should have a decision. They also will notify him early (not long after being accepted) of any merit scholarships that he may be offered.
I highly recommend applying early, so he can have his decision (and merit award) by November. It’s nice having one offer, while you’re waiting on all of the others. The application Fee is $30 (for any Florida public University, such as USF, UF, FSU, FAU, etc.), and the cost, if any of sending his SAT/ACT test scores.
Update - Received his June SAT scores - Superscore is now 1440
