How do they calculate it?
Is it just based on A-G courses?
I know on A-G courses there is a required amount and a recommended amount, do I use the required or the recommended to calculate?

[CaliforniaColleges.edu - Calculating Your GPA](http://www.californiacolleges.edu/admissions/california-state-university-csu/gpa_calculator.asp)

UCs calculate it the same way. There’s a link to the a-g course list somewhere on there.

was there even a spot on the app where you type in a gpa?

The UC computer in Oakland does all the computations. :)

But if you are calculating it yourself, use ALL a-g courses, whether required, recommended, or just plain extra.
