I’m a little late to the thread, but count me in.

^ Ditto :)

EA for sure.

^

Im also applying

lol, looks like the applicant pool is going to be much larger than last year. Prolly another X% boost, and Y% percent down in admission rate

^ I hope not :(

^ Ye, im pretty worried too -_-

Crap…this year is going to be so much harder for admissions…time to get back to the essays…

I’ll be applying too. “The Life of the Mind” was just great, and everything I’ve read by and about UChicago students and faculty makes me feel that I’m a lot like them, and they’d be the type of people I want to be around. Other than retaking the ACT and working on the essays, it seems there’s not much I can do. I scored a 30 last time; I’m hoping a 31 or 32 make me competitive.

thread revival

Ya I just decided 2 weeks ago I want to apply EA, need to research more about the school…

Omg just handed in ea!!! Good luck to all!

Hi! I already submitted everything for EA, but do you guys know if I can send in an extra (3rd) teacher’s recommendation now? do I just send it and that’s it? or is the process different – cuz I can’t add the name to the Common app since it’s already submitted right? Thanks!!

Good luck everybody! But, mostly, good luck to me! Nothing personal!

i did EA on nov 1 . submitted my app. when do you think alum will contact me ? i am in canada.

american schools - I clicked the “request alumni interview” button Monday morning and was contacted Monday afternoon. I’m assuming they’re all pretty quick to reply.

firelight- I’d like to request an alum interview as well, but I don’t see a link that directs me there… where exactly/how exactly did you request the interview? Is it because it’s different for internationals (i’m in canada)? thank you so much!

@austrianpog: You should be able to mail in a supplemental recommendation; just send it to the admissions office and they’ll get it in your file.

As for requesting an alumni interview, you should be able to request one over your UChicago Account. UChicago Account information is sent to you once you’ve submitted either the Common App or the UChicago Supplement. Log-in via the admissions website, and there should be information on how to request an interview. It should be the same, no matter where you live.

austrianpog - when you have submitted your application, you should be emailed a link that gives you a login # and directs you here

https://prospects.uchicago.edu/account/login

And once you’ve logged in, there’s an option to request an alumni interview.

If you haven’t submitted your application yet, I’m not sure if you can register/login but you can certainly schedule an interview - they request you do so by December 3 for RA.

Out of curiosity, was anyone’s essay over 2 pages double-spaced?
