RIP me
Kicking myself - didn’t apply early because I was worried about financial aid. The number of admission spots left seems very very small. Good luck to all.
@cristinaG No mention of a date on the page in that link. Do applicants have to sign in? Thanks.
“As we prepare to release Regular Decision admissions decisions on March 17th, we want to take this moment to say “thank you” — you are ALL amazing. You have gotten back to basics at square one, parsed complicated wholes into their constituent parts, hit the nail on the head with your idioms, taken us through unexpected portals to exciting new worlds, and traced the origins of vestigial relics. You are among the most brilliant, ambitious, and academically qualified students in the world. We feel privileged to have shared in your ideas and accomplishments, and to have gotten to know you.”
I can’t believe it is being released on Friday already! Good luck to everyone!
Do we know what time decesions go out?
@MCurie on the Twitter it says late afternoon central time
Don’t wanna jinx it, but I think the part about unexpected new portals may be about my supplemental essay. Long shot, I know, but a possibility!
@messiisgod123 Its not im afraid. It was about the essay question itself about the portals. But good luck!
Ah I love how appreaciative UChicago is. If I get a rejection I think it’ll hurt less bc of their message to their applicants
@messiisgod123 yeah I don’t think they would ever refer to a specific applicant… I do remember one of the prompts being about portals and the journey not the destination.
Does anyone know what the regular decision rate usually is? Like excluding the data from early decision and action
^^^^ me trying to calm myself but failing because I’m only getting more anxious and ultimately know I’ll probably get rejected hhahahahah
@mackyg I think it was around 4% last year, but I expect it to be much lower due to the addition of Early Decision (maybe 2%?)
@si9443322 Where was that message?
@DreamforIvy it’s on the admissions page in the picture that was linked on this thread a couple of posts ago but you can’t see it on an iPhone lol
@Meganerd2012 HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHA crying
@mackyg ohh ok haha
2%???! If that’s true, it’s not worth checking for me hahahahahh :((
It’s just a guess based on the amount of people that they admitted for ED; I definitely can be wrong (I’m a bit pessimistic). Don’t lose hope!
@Meganerd2012 oh lol same… good luck to you!
