But doubt it.
Either they have heard from a lot of people to be able to admit off the waitlist or they haven’t heard from enough people yet.
Given that this was a particularly tough year, I am keeping my expectations really really low
did everyone choose the gap year option?
I think most people did.
I did
Maybe they’ve already started taking people off it’s just not anyone in this group.
I guess. That’s really likely. Maybe they don’t need the waitlist this time. It’s just guess work though.
I recommend to just stop thinking about Chicago and mentally commit to UT
No way I’m taking the gap year option. I’m definitely not taking a gap year lol
Lol did I just say mentally commit to UT. I meant mentally commit to whatever school you want to go to. Sorry alot of my friends didn’t make it to ivy’s, been saying that for awhile.
I didn’t choose a gap year either. I would just end up sitting around the house and drive myself crazy!
Anyone thinking about transferring to UChicago?
Not that I am, just curious
I didn’t choose the gap year either and I don’t think I would try and transfer. Definitely will look at UChicago for grad school though.
I already committed to another school, but if I get into UChi I don’t mind losing the deposit. There’s also some schools I love with OK transfer rates, so if I don’t like the school I’m going to, I can always transfer.
While you should give your current school a chance, if you think there’s a possibility you want to transfer, I would look into those schools and be on top of things just to make sure you’re taking to right classes. If I hadn’t done that, I probably would’ve signed up for the wrong classes at orientation. Just a tip. If you’re on top of it now, and you find out you decide you do want to transfer, you won’t be stuck in a rut.
Even though top schools often offer more opportunities or have more accessible ones, you can do amazing things at any school. Make sure to take full advantage of the opportunities offered and really work to seek them out. Do super well, be involved in research (depending on major), etc, and you should be competitive for top grad schools.
Shouldn’t the university know by/on May 1 what its yield looks like and the size of their 2022 class? If they won’t look at the waitlist at all will they send the notice out on that day?
The students have until May 1. I think the college needs a bit of time after that to figure out what they want to do.
How do I upload my LOCI to the portal?
@Princetonn2022 you send it to your regional admission counselor.
