dear god
got a phone call yesterday from regional rep saying i was admitted for gap year admission
wait @reg3nerate did you reply to only the gap year option/strongly prefer it? the official account mentioned somewhere that they’d fill the class first before filling gap year admissions. does this mean that class of 2022 is already full? even before may 1?
I guess the class is full. I haven’t heard from my RAO.
Good luck people
- We are all awesome people.
- We are going to achieve what we are going to achieve wherever we go. It can be hard to change our plans and dreams and I know it's as though someone moved the starting line and I also know that it's not okay but we must accept reality.
- I am having trouble picturing myself elsewhere because UChicago is so perfect, but we can't hold on to it. SEND HELP. If anyone wants to talk plz feel free to PM me. I would appreciate that.
GOOD LUCK!
DONT FORGET TO BE AWESOME
Just apply again for grad school, get accepted, and then put UChicago on your waitlist lol.
There’s not much we can do they’ve most likely made most of their decisions and are just informing applicants. Take this as a rejection, but for the few of you who get the call, Congratulations!!!
A friend of my DD’s got the gap year acceptance as well
Guess they are wrapping up.
Stop visiting this site! It’s not going to change your admissions decisions. Go and enjoy your senior year!
Assume you’ve been rejected and make your deposit at another university.
I called admissions just now & they said waitlist is still open FYI
Yeah gap year doesnt mean closed. However I have noticed that both internationals and prep schoolers are more likely to receive it… Ive known of kids getting next fall admission in June for the last few years after gap years were taken
Someone should ask them if they still have room in the class of 2022. The gap year option might mean they’re only taking people off the waitlist for that.
@Waitlist_help I would assume that they still have room in the class of 2022… It’s not even May 1st yet. If class of 2022 were closed they would have told one of the many who called.
Also, there have been some (albeit rather few) cases in the past couple years where kids were admitted off the waitlist for the normal year after the initial gap years were taken off. It is to my knowledge that in fact, most people get off at scattered points in May. I think all internationals + some domestic applicants have their waitlist ended in mid-May however.
@averagelowtier so some domestic applicants still are allowed to tstay on the list after mid may?
@reindeercoffee Judging from the past couple of years yes there are some
Loosing my mind.
