Has anyone heard back yet? I hope there is a wave on 13th Friday.
@Ashtash just out of curiosity, which schools offere guaranteed transfer after first year? The only one which I know is Cornell ( and I’m not sure but as I know, UBoston has that ).
Btw, congrats on those offers!
@Panian
Yes, I did.
@cutecrab Congrats on that! Was it a private scholarship? Because, as far as we knew, there weren’t any offered by the university…
Hi @Panian,
Congratulations with the acceptance! I’ll be attending the University of Amsterdam too (unless I get taken off the waitlist), and as far as I know, there are not a lot of scholarships available so good luck with the probably competitive ones hehe. However, tuition is only ~$8000 for US students IIRC, so that’s a lot better than the ~$50000 at some US colleges lol.
@fakemonk Nope, not me
@Tomas1355 Hey! That s nice to know!
Btw, daughter just got a phone call from UvA notifying her of the full tuition Amsterdam scholarship! She is super thrilled!
Where do I write the Letter of Continued Interest? I can’t seem to find it from my phone.
@afreeman You write it to your admissions representative. Just do a search on the U Chicago website. They are assigned by geographic region.
@Panian Congratulations again! And yeah, she has all the right to be thrilled! The UvA (Universiteit van Amsterdam, Dutch for University of Amsterdam) is a great university
@afreeman If you go to your UChicago status portal, you’ll find a second letter in which you’ll find the emailaddress of your regional AO :-).
@colorfulhuman I was just looking through your profile, and wow, that’s a lot of waiting. You got waitlisted at some of the top schools in the country though, so even though it wasn’t what you were looking for, congrats! Congrats on UNC as well!
I think Chicago waitlisted a large majority of its applicants.
Everyone I know got waitlisted
I mean I promise they didn’t waitlist “a large majority,” and I do know people that got rejected, but alright…
@Panian @dreamcatcher3 so all I have to do is write a LOCI and send it to the AO in my region?
@afreeman Yes
@afreeman yes. The portal gives you the link. Also the UChicago website. International students have a separate AO, I think. Anyway, it is a very simple procedure. A direct e-mail
Did anyone receive an email back from their regional AO? Or the admissions office? I sent my LOCI to both on Friday and I still didn’t get a reply. I did get an automatic reply from my AO saying he’s out of town and he’ll reply as soon as possible. Do you guys think it’s just because of Easter or sth?
My DD emailed her LOCI yesterday morning and her AO responded in the afternoon. She is in CT
@Harvard2022maybe DD got an immediate response too. But she had replied before the Easter holidays, as soon as she was notified. I don’t think there is any cause for concern.
Mine has opened the email when I sent it last week but has yet to reply.
