Hi everyone!
I just recently submitted my application for UChicago (ED2)
My GPA was 3.6 (unweighted)
Ranked top in my class
Submitted two teacher recs and a peer rec
I submitted my application with a 1390 new SAT score. My essay was pretty strong and so were my extracurriculars. I just wanted to know my chances and if anyone has heard of people with my GPA and SAT score getting accepted. Chicago is my top choice school. Please get back to me…
There is lots of things don’t make sense in your post.
You said UChicago is your top choice, why didn’t you apply ED1? That confuses me.
I dont think SAT is everything, because it isn’t. But in this case, 1390 is too low for UChicago. You need to get a 1440 to meet the 25th percentile of last year (if it’s correct). So you have 50 points to go to meet a lowest line for someone who is not sport-committed or super-legacy.
And about your essay and EC, you said it’s strong. But how strong? You just said a word strong and without any information. No one can chance you like that. Yes, certainly someone with your score get accepted, because they accept people even lower, like 1200 SAT, every year. But guess what? I think if you’re their cases, you will have super rich parents and a whole team to plan out the whole application issue for you, and you will not bother to ask questions in CC.
rSAT 25th is now 1420, according to a post in another popular forum (rhymes with Dread It).
@JBStillFlying That’s a good thing for prospective students. But below 1400 is still too low in my eyes…
I found it in the reddit, thank you.
