Hi. I have seen a lot of "What are my chances?" post and decided to do one.

My main choice are :
Uchicago
Georgetown
Berkely
USC
NYU
University of Texas
Johns Hopkins
Rice University
.. yeah I know they are all "reach schools" anyway..
I have a 3.9 weighted GPA
Over 300 hours of community service
Have passed (with 3s) the only two AP tests I've ever taken ( APhuman and APworld)
I go to an early college and will graduate with 73 college hours and an associates degree in arts
I'm currently the captain of my Speech and Debate team
Vice president of National honor society
Member of Science National Honor society
Was involved in theatre (as a techie)
Was (I say was because I switched school and my current school has no arts or music department) in Pep band, marching band, jazz band and concert band
Class president this coming year
I do UIL, which is like academic decathlon for Texas
I am a member of an exclusive " Mayor's youth council" where I represent my district in Houston
I intern at a research center
And that is all that I can remember for now....
Please tell me or guesstimate what my chances are for each school and whether I should apply Early Action to the first two (Chicago & Georgetown)

Your stats are highly abnormal, so I will try my best to chance you.

Here are your plus factors:
Interesting EC’s, a degree in Arts as a HS student, Community service (decent amount)

Negative factors: GPA 3.9 Weighted isn’t very competitve. The majority of students applying have Weighted GPA’S of 4.2+, I don’t know your SAT that would be highly helpful. AP scores are average at best.
My evaluation on your gpa and EC’S Alone
USC and Texas (match)
NYU (reach)
UC Berkley ( huge reach)
Johns Hopkins (reach/ huge reach if pre med)
University of Chicago ( impossible reach)
Rice (slgiht reach)
Georgetown ( high reach)

Honestly, if you post your gender, ethniticy, SAT score, and unweighted GPA I could chance you more accurately
Good Luck at admissions thoe!

whats your rank and SAT/ACT?

No telling without test scores. Also, are you assuming your college credits will transfer? You need to look at the rules at each institution on your list, you may find that few or none transfer to some of the schools on your list.

UChicago and any school of its caliber will be virtually impossible for you. GTown, JHU and Rice may be possible, but definitely not something you can count on.

@bradybest , I don’t know why you would say “impossible”. My D2 got into U of C last year with a 3.7 UW and no hooks. Now… she had terrific test scores, and ECs and recommendations that lined up very well with U of C’s atmosphere. Without test scores, there is no way to tell how this applicant would fare at U of C.

Thanks for replying.
@TheJHUenthusiast .I Just took the SAT and I’m expecting around a 2100 . Higher than that would be farfetched for me.
I am African American ( dual citizen: Nigeria & America)
Considering the fact that my entire class has high GPAs I’m about 25 out of 97 kids.
@intparent I have checked about the whole credits situation and from what I know there is absolutely no guarantee that they’ll transfer unless I go to a school here in Texas. Ultimately, even though graduating from college two years early is extremely attractive. I would rather be in the best school possible.
Oh and P.S: since my school is really small and only 5 years old so I know everyone who has apllied to U of C and all except one have gotten accepted with similar academic credentials and much less ECs. If that means anything…

Helpful to know that you are a URM. If you get that 2100, especially if you could hit 700 in Math & CR, your odds go up a lot at all the schools on your list.
