So decisions come out tomorrow and I’m really nervous. UChicago is my NUMBER 1 school. I didn’t apply EA because my scores needed more work.

ACT- 21
GPA: 3.3 UW
4.2 W
150 service hours
My resume is pretty decent and I have an article written about me that was published on a local news paper (i sent that in to my portfolio)
I realize these aren’t the highest scores/GPA.
I’d like to think that I wrote some pretty good essays. I had numerous teachers read over them.
Some boosters: I serve as the Student Advisor to the School Board (my county school board). This is an elected position. I do have a lot of extra curricular activities.

My debate coaches, my college level english professor, my calculus teacher, The man in charge of Student Activities for the whole County, and one of the school board members.
So… what do ya’ll think? do I have a shot?

That score is way too low for UChicago. Sorry to say, but i dont see you getting in.
Your GPA and test scores are way too low for that school. I’m sorry but I don’t see you getting in there. It’s pretty much an ivy league. Work hard though and apply to what you know you can get! Good luck!

Are you from a low-performing school? (What’s your school’s SAT average)?
Unless something crazy happens, I think your scores are way too low.

Your profile is really nice and UChicago is notoriously quirky in its choices, but they’re also notoriously intellectual and 3.3/21/1720 just wouldn’t cut it.
You can post your results, but most importantly where else have you applied?
You seem like a great applicant, but in the end your numbers are too low for an academically cutthroat school like UChicago. Where else did you apply? What is your prospective major? Try not to set your heart on any one school, and remember that you’ll do well wherever you end up going. Good luck!!
