I don’t know if they’re the brightest; I scored a 22 on the ACT and I wasn’t even rejected. Then again, test scores do not gauge intelligence…so maybe you’re right. :)

Accepted! :]

Still no response… should I be concerned??? I mean I’ve been getting emails from them and stuff, and I’m pretty sure I got one saying my app was complete…

click the update button! Hopefully you can play with the bubbles as well

@skittlescutie: I too was rejected from my ED school and deferred from UChicago. Not screwed for RD apps, per se, but I would be much better off if I were accepted somewhere already!

deferred…4.00 gpa and 2300 sat
i straight-up want to die

@Christy12 good luck to us! i really hope everything works out RD round. UChicago, i will show you how really amazing i am!!! ;P

Accepted! AAAAAHHHHHHHH!!! :D

Did anyone else get a merit scholarship?

The additional letter was so touching; I felt like I was getting a love letter~
I haven’t visited yet, but I have such a strong emotional attachment to UChicago and hope I do get to meet many of you next year!

What additional letter? They already made merit scholarship decisions?

Did the merit scholarship thingy come in your official packet? I didn’t get my official packet. But I live in the Chicago area, so hopefully I get it tomorrow.

I doubt I’ll get any merit thingies, because I’m shocked just to be accepted, but still I want that packet.

It’s supposed to be in your UChicago account, where your decision letter and financial aid letter are.

They did say they would be reviewing more applications for merit scholarships up until April. I’m equally shocked; I initially expected a deferral! I’m from NJ, so it’ll be a couple more days until I receive my package, but I’m so excited!

Accepted from Maryland! So excited :)

17% of EA applicants were accepted this year.

If you don’t mind me asking, little penguin, how much merit aid did you get? I am trying to gauge my likely merit aid

I received 5k per year, which isn’t much, but it’s still something.

Yeah that would definitely help a bit, thanks

@littlepenguin, I got merit too ($5K), although I haven’t gotten the acceptance package yet … it says “University Scholar Award” on my financial aid letter. Looking forward to the official letter.

Congrats, cloudless :3 Go on your UChicago account. They should have a separate letter about the University Scholar Award.

Found it! Aw, the letter is really nice. Congrats to you too, littlepenguin!
