Why can’t we just be told today? Should someone call admissions and let them know that us applicants would be okay with that? Ohhh…the wait!
I called. Decisions will be out in the portal in the EARLY afternoon tomorrow. We will get a notification by e-mail.

No. I gather counselors who hear in advance are a tiny minority of the total.

I am sooo nervous. I am from a highly competitive private school down south. SAT 2280, GPA 3.41, great ECs, essays and recs. Any chance of EA to math?
Good sat scores, @rrhelp, but the GPA won´t help. I have similar SAT scores to you, but a slightly higher GPA (3.8). Good luck tommorrow!
that’s cool! i am 10 yrs old and I got a 800 on subject physics, chemistry, biology, and math II…i don’t think i’ll get in despite my 2390 sat score bc i am too young…thoughts???

I would be very surprised if you got in. UChicago has a reputation for accepting more young prodigies than most schools, but at 10 you’d have a very tough time in a setting where most students’ ages are between 18 and 22.
This is assuming you’re real, a possibility to which - given the sheer number of posters who have nothing better to do than create fake profiles - I assign maybe a 25% chance.

Is it true that U Chicago gives a lot of importance to essays? Would that make up for a GPA 3.41? My school does not weight GPA and I took the toughest courses!
Essays could make up for a 3.41, but you’d be one in a thousand if they did. Most, if not all, who get in with that GPA have a strong hook (top-in-nation athlete, internationally famous, 10 years from being the next Yo-Yo Ma, last name Rockefeller or Bush, quintuple legacy, etc).
I’m not going to say no, but for your own sake I suggest you don’t get your hopes up.
