My interview spanned well over an hour. It was nice since the alumnus that interviewed me pursued the major that I am planning to pursue (physics), so I got to get a chance to get a personal opinion on the physics department at UChicago. Was your guys’ interviews really informal? I was surprised at how informal mine was.
mine was over an hour as well (we ultimately were kicked out of the place because it was rather late) and we talked about a lot and I think it went pretty well? Mine was less formal than many i’ve done but not the least formal.
Just got the email saying my application is complete. Wonder if they’ve made my decision already…
@gearsstudio Sameeee I just got that email too, they might have just sent it out to everyone whose app was done
Is there anyone who is still waiting to hear back about interviews? I sent in my form over a month ago and haven’t heard anything. Should I contact the admissions office? I really would like to interview, UChicago is my top choice and I think it would help my chances

@waddups: I brought a copy of my uncommon essay to my interview, but that was just because my interviewer told me to do so. You can probably ask your interviewer if it is necessary to bring anything.
And just got that email a few hours ago, too! Not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing… (waiting for that decision [-O< )
It amazes me how they can cram over 11,000 applications into little over a month and still make all their decisions on who is accepted during the EA round. Wish I knew how it worked
@Lift35 Makes me wonder whether they actually go through all the applications fully. Maybe they throw out applications below a certain GPA or test score and don’t even look at their ECs and essays? Who knows.
@chinchilla8 I called the admissions office today since I’m in the same situation as you and the guy was really nice and he said he made an extra note on my application about my interview and said that now I should get an interview within a week
Does anyone know when the decision date could be? Like when was it last year?

@VaishS: The website and email said mid-December, so I’m going to assume by December 15th or earlier.
Great, I’ll be knowing whether I’ll be super happy or down in the dumps while I’m taking my finals…
