“If you get accepted to UChicago for ED II, but the financial aid package is not enough, can you walk away from the ED offer, or do you have to go even if the aid package is too little/you can’t afford it?”
@angstyforadmission1 EDII is for those who have UChicago as their first choice and plan to attend if accepted. It’s a binding commitment, not an option. So make sure to understand what the family contribution will be, talk to the FA office, etc. And only sign that agreement if you plan on attending.
@okeydokeypokey my daughter was deferred EA last year and was accepted RD and received very generous FA. For US residents I do believe it’s need blind.
Deferred ED from KY… main reason for applying was the Institute of Politics. Oh well, see ya in March UChicago along with Rice, Grinnell, American, Northwestern, WashUStLouis, Baylor, Tulane, and a few others to be decided!
Congrats to all accepted, and Good Luck for the future! Could all ED/EA Accepted please post detailed stats so others deferred can make informed an decision about ED II ? Thanks!
Got deferred, Indian male from Georgia. 1510 SAT (790 math, 720 reading) with 12 AP’s and 5 Dual Enrollment courses. 3.9 GPA unweighted, 4.5 weighted Kind of happy I didn’t get straight up rejected tho.
@AS2YPZ agree. Deferred with a 32 ACT (E 32, M 30, R 34, S 34), 3.77 GPA, 11 honors/APs. No amazing ECs, just ordinary every day ECs, but with heart. Deferral was welcome…will jump back into the pool. Is it a sort of “free for all” as to what can be submitted now to support our chances for RD?
