UChicago Class of 2022 Discussion

My admissions counselor did not respond to an email I sent her a week ago. Should I email her soon or should I give it another week?

@friendfiend That’s what my account says too, so I think we’re good and have everything submitted.

@summerhazed give her another week i think; they’re probably swamped with matching things rn!

She actually just responded this morning so I guess it doesn’t matter anyway

Hey everyone, applied EA about 2 weeks ago!
my stats are:
ACT: 32C (35E, 34R, 31M, 28S) and 31C (35E, 33R, 26M, 30S) so superscored it’s a 33
GPA: 3.74 UW 4.14W
black female, 1st generation US citizen
LOTS of leadership ECs
5 APs total (most at my school is probably 7 or 8 based on how many the school offers)
school doesn’t rank

what are my chances of getting in?
haven’t been contacted yet for my interview so I’m a little nervous!

I’m also applying to: Harvard, UPenn, Stanford, Northwestern, WashU, Johns Hopkins, Colombia, Vanderbilt, NYU, and Georgetown

I submitted an AP score report as a supplemental document, but I can’t open it to check if it was uploaded properly – should I upload it again just to make sure? I’m a little paranoid I accidentally uploaded the wrong document, and there’s no way for me to check it.

did anyone get an interview request yet/been contacted by alumni? I haven’t, but I know a few people who have :frowning:

I got an email from an alumna on Monday. But I know a lot of people who got in without interviews so don’t stress out. You’ll be fine

@dylanm47 hard to say you have a “good” shot at getting in EA because the odds are going to be low for anyone. However, given your stats and demographic, not to mention your status as a child of immigrant parents (which undoubtedly makes for an interesting essay or two), you probably have a better shot at it than most. EA is the smart choice for those with hooks, special talents, or other characteristics that make them a particularly competitive applicant for the elite schools. If you don’t mind, would you be willing to share what application plan you chose for those other universities? Are they all RD and/or non-binding Early?

I contacted UChicago’s admission office and the person there (Ryan, I think) told me that they were no longer offering interviews. Can anyone else confirm this? I can’t register for an alumni interview through my UChicago account so I’m guessing it’s true.

I’m applying to all either non-binding early action or regular decision

@dylanm47 you have a good chance of getting into at least one of your schools of choice. Good luck to you! Keep us posted!

anyone from NJ get an interview request? also are interviewers matched by major? that’s super cool!

@friendfiend yes i got an interview invitation. EA candidate.

i never got an invitation for an alumni interview even though i expressed interest months ago and im starting to get very worried :frowning:

Son got his interview today. Interviewer was super nice. The interview was supposed to be less than an hour but they talked over an hour and a half.

@HopefulyIvy123 , I think they are only scheduling EA and ED candidates now. If you applied RD, it will take a while.

We are in rural North Florida. My son has not heard back about an interview. It could be that there is nobody in this area.

I’m in rural PA and I’ve also heard nothing about an interview. Should I just assume that by now I won’t get one?

Does anyone know how much the enrollment deposit is for sure?

For those wondering, I got through to the admissions office and was told $500.
