@Youngmis123 - wish there was an “unlike” button for that news. Good luck on your other applications!
Does anyone know when the applicant stats will come out?
I mean I got into UMass Amherst, Drexel, Penn State, and others so I am not super sad about it
@kuudere_coolidge - last year was the first year that they moved the stats to fall. Class of '22 stats should be out about now.
. . . And here they are!

Did anybody get in test-optional? If so what were your other stats?
@JBStillFlying is this still accurate if those were last years stats?
just got deferred, going for ED2
I didn’t get in test optional

Common App Essay: Music Therapy program
Uncommon Essay: How apples and oranges are supposed to be compared, used that to talk about racial profiling in a more philosophical way and use elements from two neuroscientific research in the essay
Why UChicago: Talk about the research opportunities, the Core Curriculum and the UChicago Soul Umoja Gospel Choir that I want to join
yeah i got asked between RD and ED2, im doing ED2
Honestly I feel that the test-optional is just a gimmick to have more people apply
My daughter was deferred from EA at UChicago and given the option of Regular or ED2
@kuudere_coolidge. Those are the most current stats we have and were just released. They will probably update College Navigator very soon as well. No, they do not reflect the current application cycle and that moving SAT score makes me a tad nervous. 25th% for ACT also went up from 32 to 33 - last year. No telling what we’ll see this year but we won’t know till this time next year. Admissions will unofficially release some general numbers over the next few months and we’ll have to be happy with those.
^Youngmis123 - some will get in test-optional but the vast majority will be deferred or rejected, just like the vast majority of those who submitted scores. UChicago is just becoming an increasingly difficult school to get into.
DS denied ED.
Accepted! Congrats to all, and good luck to those who will be continuing on elsewhere!
Does anyone know many students that are deferred actually get accepted the second round? I’m just trying to get some solace. UChicago has always been my first choice and I thought I had the stats to back it up. I should’ve applied ED, but hindsight is 20/20 I guess…
@Hawkrunner2000 I have similar stats and I applied to similar schools, so i hope so!
deferred…
Deferred. Anyone know what the ED2 admit rate is for a deferred EA applicant?
